Charles Del Valle never planned on becoming an entrepreneur—especially not one selling football cleats out of his apartment and inspiring other athletes to start businesses.
After a season-ending injury in college football left him sidelined, Charles found himself questioning everything—his identity, his purpose, and what life looked like beyond the game. That’s when everything changed.
Back home in New Jersey, Charles encountered faith in a way he never had before. He became a disciple of Jesus, and his new identity as a son of God ignited a passion not just for ministry—but for helping others find purpose beyond performance.
He spent the next eight years leading college ministry, helping young men and women come to Christ and grow in their faith. But deep down, he still missed the game. That’s when the spark for entrepreneurship was lit.
He started selling cleats and customizing them online and it quickly turned into a six-figure business called FB Cleat Heat. His apartment overflowed with cleats—literally. He had to shut down sales just to find space to walk. That was the moment he knew: it was time to scale.
Charles invested in systems, hired help, and leaned into the same leadership skills he used in ministry—this time, to build a brand and a business.
In 2025 he founded The Athletes Department where he coaches current and former athletes to turn their mindset, message, and hustle into profitable businesses—without losing their faith or their identity in the process.
Charles is a husband, a man of faith, and a former college athlete turned ministry leader turned business builder. He believes that your purpose didn’t end when the game did—in fact, it’s just getting started.
